Hi I’m Megan, I’m Mezcal’s General Manager and I am really enjoying my time here. You’ll most likely find me shaking up your favourite margaritas or serving up Glasgows best tacos!
I first began working in hospitality aged 17 in a small local cafe. I then moved onto my first bar/restaurant, Saint Jude’s at 19 and worked my way up becoming a duty manager aged 22. I then moved on and became AGM of Mezcal June 2022 aged 23 and I became the general manager this year.
In my spare time I enjoy running, socialising with friends and drinking a margarita or two!

Food was great and staff were very helpful, especially as I was on my own with two children. Possibly the best burrito I have had and tortilla chips and guacamole were excellent too. Already thinking of going back. Oh, and kids eat for free at lunch time. Will book next time as it is very busy, and rightly so.

As soon as we got inside it literally had such an authentic Mexican smell, the food was absolutely amazing. I’ve never had such good tacos outside of Mexico. Cocktails were also spot on. Highly recommend the mango and basil margarita.

Visited for the first time with my 9 year old yesterday. Tremendous food. Lovely setting and atmosphere and great value for money. Tacos al Pastor didn’t disappoint and my girl loved her pork taco and mocktail. Can’t wait to come back.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff are incredible and so lovely. The food is absolutely outstanding, the portions look small but damn they’re bursting with flavour and so filling. Had never tried margaritas before so the server recommended frozen margaritas and they were insanely good! The decor and the atmosphere is amazing too. Will definitely be back here again soon
What is Mezcal?
MEZCAL, THE SPIRIT OBTAINED FROM DISTILLING AGAVE, HAS BEEN ENJOYED ACROSS MEXICO FOR CENTURIES.
You may know tequila better, but mezcal came first. In fact, tequila is actually just a kind of mezcal. While there are over 30 types of agave that can be used to make mezcal, tequila must be made with blue agave.
The production process for mezcal is also different. Where the agave is usually cooked under pressure in tequila production, for mezcal it is mostly cooked underground in smoke pits. This leads to the smokey flavour profile of mezcal, and brings out fruit, mineral or herbal notes.
Mezcal is made in 8 specific regions of Mexico: Oaxaca, Durango, Guanajuato, Guerrero, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas, Zacatecas, and Michoacan.
